Launch Party and StayClassy.org Follow Up

I wanted to thank everyone for supporting me and my new venture at the Launch Party for Lara Leigh Designs. It was a great night and I feel so blessed for having so many amazing people in my life. I cant express enough how much I appreciate everyone who made it to the event. My best girlfriends and my mom came all the way down from LA to support. Also, two of the greatest friends a girl could have were kind enough to be my models and have their photos displayed on 3 TVs... one of which was a 4' x 6' projection screen. They looked beautiful. My wonderful boyfriend got everything ready for me so that the night went smoothly. Thanks to my friends at 923 Lounge who checked on me numerous times to make sure I was doing well.
Again thanks to everyone that was able to make it.

Also, through the event I was able to donate $50.00 to Stay Classy which will go toward building a shelter for abandoned youth in San Diego. Please take a minute to check out the following link, http://www.stayclassy.org/profile/mygiving.php which is my direct fundraising page for the cause. If you have $5 and would like to contribute to the organization you can do so through my fundraising page. The less fortunate youth in San Diego will greatly appreciate your support. The following is a link to a video that explains the whole campaign... http://vimeo.com/3786598 I hope you will check it out.
Thanks again for all the support!!!
xoxo Lara Leigh

Dream Big

There is nothing better than going after a dream. I am just starting to set up my new Etsy Store, http://www.laraleighdesigns.etsy.com/,
so that I can finally share my art and creations. At first I was afraid to start my own business. I am an artistic person with a degree in Interior Design. I don't have much knowledge about the business world. I did a lot of research hoping for some guidelines and guidance. I dabbled a few times getting my lists together of things I needed to do resulting in getting overwhelmed. About my third time going back to the idea something clicked. I realized that it really wasn't that difficult and got everything done in one day. I filed my fictitious business name at the city clerk, went to my State Board of Equalization and applied for a sellers permit and also went and got my business license. It was a very rewarding day and put me in full throttle to start working toward my Independence. By Independence I mean working for myself. As a creative and motivated individual I am eager to spread my wings and explore all possible avenues. In the past 5 years I have graduated college and been lucky enough to be employed at a wonderful design firm working as an Interior Designer. Design is my passion. Creating new ideas and art is what drives me each and everyday. Seeing a clients eyes light up with amazement or someone inquiring about my art is so rewarding. For me I feel that Independence is important. Something that I have been dreaming about. I would love to spend my days doing what I love. Maybe one day making jewelry and the next on a job site with a client. Maybe the

next searching for new findings... pretty much whatever and where ever my creativeness might take me. I'm really proud that I have taken the plunge toward my goals and I encourage others to do the same. In today's economy you have to be smart about how you go about taking the plunge. Take it slow... don't quit your day job until you are financially stable. It might be a while till I am able to fully plunge or even half way plunge but I have taken the first step... and it feels really good!!!
